About

Jules Simonneau,

Founder of Pique Me

Lic. Ac, MBAcC.

I am a qualified Acupuncturist practising Traditional Chinese Medicine from my clinic in Kentish Town, North London. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, I specialise in treating insomnia, stress, and acute injuries, as well as providing menopause support.

Working with a wide range of patients, I have developed proficiency in addressing complex health concerns. I use my in-depth knowledge of Chinese Medicine to support my patients from multiple perspectives, tailoring treatments to each individual’s unique needs.

My relationship with acupuncture began during my pregnancy when I suffered from debilitating sciatica. After finding that acupuncture was the only treatment that provided relief, I became passionate about its healing potential. This personal experience inspired me to pursue a career in acupuncture, aiming to help others find similar relief and improve their quality of life.

I completed 3 intensive years of training at the prestigious City College of Acupuncture, in London and graduated with a First-class degree licentiate. This education gave me a deep understanding of traditional techniques and modern applications of Chinese Medicine. My approach goes beyond the treatment room, offering practical and achievable diet and lifestyle advice that often combines Chinese and Western understanding. I am also trained as a facial acupuncturist, providing a natural alternative to cosmetic procedures that can help rejuvenate skin, reduce fine lines, and promote a healthy, glowing complexion from within.

I am committed to providing personalised care that can bring about profound changes in both physical and mental health. My goal is to help patients not only alleviate symptoms but also gain a new perspective on their health and well-being.

What to expect in
your Consultation

If you’ve never had acupuncture before, it’s natural to feel a bit apprehensive. Rest assured, everything will be carefully explained throughout the process.

You’ll be welcomed into the peaceful clinic space, just 5 minutes from Kentish Town Station. It’s a quiet, beautiful, and relaxing environment designed to put you at ease from the moment you arrive.

The appointment will start with an in-depth chat. There will be a dive deep into what brings you to acupuncture, as well as your overall health well-being and medical history. In Chinese Medicine, it looks at you as a whole person, not just isolated symptoms. This comprehensive approach helps to get a clear picture of how your body and mind are functioning.

After the discussion, you’ll lie down on the treatment bed. Where your tongue will be examined and your pulses felt - these are key diagnostic tools in Chinese Medicine that provide valuable insights into your body’s state.

Next, the acupuncture needles will be inserted. These are extremely thin and often not felt at all. Sometimes you might experience a slight tingling or dull ache, but it shouldn’t be painful. If needed, techniques may incorporated such as Moxa, GuaSha, cupping or a TDP Heat lamp (see my blog post explaining these techniques and the benefits).

Then it’s time to relax. You’ll rest with the needles in place for about 25 minutes. Many patients fall into a peaceful sleep or deep state of relaxation during this time.

After the treatment, the needles will be removed and you will be provided with personalised dietary and lifestyle advice. An outline of the treatment plan tailored to your needs will be provided.

Remember, this is a collaborative process. This means working together over time to restore balance and improve your overall well-being, eventually moving to less frequent maintenance sessions, usually every 6 to 8 weeks. The goal is not just to treat symptoms, but to empower you with the tools to maintain your health long-term.

Jules was exceptionally caring, knowledgeable, attending, compassionate and extremely charismatic. I enjoyed every session we had and she had a huge positive impact on me. Her acupuncture skills, as well as her follow up advice helped me through and supported me greatly. I couldn’t recommend her more. A wonderful human being and excellent therapist too!
